We chat with Teshay Makeda aka. The Empress of Roots Soul, Roundhouse Resident and talented singer to discuss the importance of telling your own story on stage.


Teshay is a South London based singer, songwriter and performer. Her Rastafarian upbringing has naturally rooted her eclectic musical style, which consists of Reggae, Soul and RnB. Teshay's self titled debut EP led to performances at The Albany, The Old Vic, Lambeth Country Show, Rototom Sunsplash Festival and most recently a sold out solo show at Hampstead Jazz Club. Teshay performed for an audience at our Grand Gathering at the Geffrye Museum in East London.
